Product Information
Industrial-duty, extended-life AC and DC electromechanical actuators are completely self-contained, motorized linear actuation packages that are quick and simple to install (double clevis mounting) and easy to maintain. Linear actuators are excellent replacements for pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. All Duff-Norton linear actuators are offered with fully adjustable internal limit switches or travel/load limiting friction disc clutches. The 115 VAC, split-capacitor motor is thermally protected and operates on 60 Hz. The 12 VDC motor uses a permanent magnet design. All actuators use a gear or belt drive system and are designed to handle the rated load in tension and compression applications. All actuator components are sealed in corrosion-resistant aluminum housings. The actuators are fully gasketed for use in harsh environments. <b>Friction-Disc Clutch</b> Factory set to slip at rated capacity, protecting actuator from over-travel and/or excessive loads. Clutch is not designed for continuous operation and will not shut off power to the motor. Customer-furnished external limit switches are recommended for this type of application. <b>Limit Switches</b> Fully adjustable limit switches eliminate the need for customer-supplied external limit switches. Switches can be set to stop motion of the translating tube at any position of the stroke or at the full extend and full retract position.
