Applied® and SKF Kaydon are Moving Operations Forward

When it comes to unique operating conditions on your rotating machinery, there should not be a one-size-fits-all solution. For the best fit, you need to consider everything from saving weight and creating space, to reducing friction and increasing design flexibility. When such exact specifications are needed, look to SKF Kaydon’s line of Reali-Slim® ball bearings.

These Kaydon bearings offer a wide variety of bearing solutions for even the most unique design challenges. Each Reali-Slim® ball bearing series is based on a single cross section which remains constant as the bore diameter is increased (in sharp contrast to standard bearings, in which the cross section increases as the bore diameter increases). By using the same series of Reali-Slim® bearings throughout a product line, the designer can standardize on common components. These thin bearing solutions can be found in applications around the world to do the job of a bigger, heavier bearing, but with a thinner, more compact design.

WHY SKF KAYDON Reali-Slim® Bearings?

Each Reali-Slim® ball bearing series is based on a single cross section that remains constant as the bore diameter is increased – using the same series throughout a product line, can standardize common components

Available Size Options

Features:
  • Kaydon Reali-Slim® ball bearings include:
    • internal fit up
    • lubricants
    • separators
  • Stainless steel Reali-Slim® series of ball bearings provide exceptional corrosion resistance
  • Open thin section ball bearings range in bore diameters from 0.750 inch to 40.000 inches
  • The seven series in the product line range from .187 x .187 inch to 1.000 x 1.000 inch in cross section
  • Standard open bearings are available from stock in three configurations:
    • angular contact bearings (Type A)
    • Conrad assembled deep groove radial ball bearings (Type C)
    • four-point contact radial bearings
Applications:
  • Separator types include:
    • continuous ring "snap-over pocket"
    • continuous ring circular pocket
    • formed wire
    • toroid
    • PTFE spacers
    • ball bearing spacer separators
  • In many applications a single Reali-Slim® four-point contact radial ball bearing can replace two bearings – compacting the design and simplifying the bearing mounting while:
    • saving money
    • creating space
    • saving weight
