- Oldham Coupling Disk, OD 1 5/8" or 41.3mm, Black Acetal
description
- Comprised of two aluminum hubs and a center torque transmitting disc. The torque disc is available in a choice of acetal for high torsional stiffness, nylon for vibration and shock dampening and PEEK for high temperature and low outgassing. The center element fits over drive tenons on the hubs with a press fit to ensure zero backlash operation (with an acetal or PEEK disc). In operation, the disc slides over the tenons to accommodate misalignment. In the event of over-torquing, the disc will break cleanly, stopping all power transmission. This makes this coupling suitable for use as a mechanical fuse. The disc is easily replaceable and will restore the coupling to its original performance. This type of coupling is especially good at handling parallel misalignment.
