• 3M™ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8544 is a glossy black, 9 mil, leading edge erosion protection tape comprised of a tough polyurethane backing and a high shear acrylic adhesive. It resists minor punctures, tearing and abrasion. This tape is qualified to aerospace specifications. It is commonly used for prevention of chafing of rivets on aircraft fuel cells and bladders.
